Road closures: State of the Nation Address (SONA)

The annual SONA address is taking place on Thursday, 6 February 2025. The event will result in a number of road closures and restrictions. Some of these will be in place until 19 February. Read more below:

The State of the Nation Address is taking place at the City Hall.

Road closures before, during and after the event will affect the normal flow of traffic in and around the city bowl, as well as the available parking space.

Signage will be installed in the affected areas; however, we urge motorists to please check the list of closures carefully and to plan their routes accordingly.

• Factor in additional time for travel over this period
  
• Limit non-essential travel in the CBD area
• Consult the various online navigation tools to find the best route to the your destination
• Please be patient, as traffic volumes will likely be elevated
